Log Cabins

Log cabins have a wide variety of uses and provide an alternative to extending the house. They offer additional rooms suitable as guest quarters or for use as a home office, but can also be used as shops and cafeterias.

As a general guideline, the thicker the log cabin timber, the better insulating qualities will be had. This has the added benefit of enabling the building to be used all year without accruing extortionate heating costs. The thicker timber cabins cost more initially, but will often pay for themselves as a result of the heating costs they save.

Log cabins can be considered as an additional building and can have power and water installed in the same way as a regular house.

Anglian Garden & Building supplied have a comprehensive range of log cabins offering many features at an economical price. A log cabin for the garden can be used simply for storage or can offer an attractive area for entertaining, a play room, garden office, work shop or simply somewhere to enjoy your garden from - the options are endless.

The starter range of log cabins all have 28mm timber thickness and are suitable as a sturdy alternative to a summerhouse or shed. Then there are the

  2. Great article! I've actually noticed that log cabin-style structures have started making a come back. Someone even built one around the corner from me! How difficult is it to plan one? I imagine that my friendly neighborhood Toronto building supplies companies could give me estimates, but I'd appreciate another prospective. Thanks!

  6. Do you just use log fires in your fireplace for heating the house when it gets cold? Or is there another way? My brother went camping up by Markham and said he used a little portable heater instead of a fire.
